It’s really easy to grow nutritious sprouts at home and it’s an amazing process to get kids involved in too! Sprouts are loaded with vitamins, fibre and iron and you can add them to salads, sandwiches and more!
We are excited to partner with Penny’s Pantry to create a Spring Sprouting Kit! In this kit, you have everything you need to grow sprouts right on your kitchen counter!
It includes 2 Masontops Bean Screens, 1 Wide-Mouth Mason Jar, and a bag containing ¼ cup (4 - 1 Tbsp servings) of Mumm’s Spring Mix sprouting seeds from Penny’s Pantry. Mumm’s Spring Mix are certified-organic, non-gmo and contains a blend of broccoli, radish, red clover and alfalfa seeds, perfect to put in a delicious salad!
To grow sprouts:
SOAK- Put 1 to 2 Tbsp. seed in a wide mouth jar. Screw the bean screen onto the mouth of the wide-mouth mason jar. Add water, swirl, and drain. Add 1 cup cool water and soak for 2 to 3 hours. Drain well.
RINSE - Twice a day, refill jar with cool water, swirl, and drain. There are pegs on the bean screen so that the jar can be left upside down in a bowl for optimal drainage.
ENJOY - Ready to eat in 3 to 5 days. Refrigerate to store. (Sprouts can be refrigerated for up to two weeks in a sealed container. (Sprouts store best when they are fairly dry- do not store immediately after rinsing.)
